Yeah very impressive, Feifei. But why are you singing and dancing?

Feifei

Well, I booked a holiday in a lovely hotel with a fantastic swimming pool. 

자, 환상적인 수영장이 있는 멋진 호텔에서 휴일을 보냈어요.

Rob

Right. And you're celebrating by singing and dancing? Very strange! 

그렇군요. 그리고 노래와 춤으로 축하를 하고 있어요? 매우 이상하네요!

Feifei

No Rob, of course not! There's a problem - the swimming pool is closed for refurbishment and I want to cancel my holiday but the hotel won't let me. 

아뇨 Rob, 당연히 아녜요! 문제가 하나 있었어요 - 수영장이 재단장때문에 닫혀서 예약을 취소하고 싶어요. 하지만 호텔은 취소를 못 하게 할거에요.

Rob

Oh right. So you're singing about it? 

오 그렇군요. 그래서 그걸 노래하고 있어요?

Feifei

No. Neil told me to call the hotel again and make a song and dance about my reservation – so I'm practising before I do. 

아뇨. Neil이 제게 호텔에 다시 전화해서 제 예약에 대해 노래하고 춤추라고 말했어요. 그래서 그러기 전에 연습하고 있어요.

Rob

Hold on Feifei. Don't waste your time. What Neil means by 'to make a song and dance about it', is to make lots of unnecessary fuss about it – basically, to overreact. 

기다려요 Feifei. 시간낭비하지 마요. Neil이 '노래하고 춤춰라'는 말은 불필요한 야단법석을 떨라는 의미에요. 일반적으로 과잉반응하는거죠.

Feifei

Got it! So, overreact – yes, I can do that!

이해했어요. 그럼, 과잉반응 - 네 저 할 수 있어요!

Rob
